Sorry about that…I left some code in which caused ShowShare to act odd if you clicked on its floating window when it was not the foremost application.
1.1.0:
This is a weird hybrid maintenance release. I've had it on my disk for eons and suddenly realized I'd never released it publicly. Here it is. The adventurous among you may try playing with some of the indicator features…even better, you can try playing with Apple events. I don't want to really pound on this stuff yet, so I didn't write aevt/aute's for this version. If you want to send ShowShare Apple events to turn sharing on/off, let me know and I'll give you the specs.
ShowShare is now savvy about both FileShare and AppleShare. Menus/dialogs/etc. reflect what you can do based on the type of “server” you're running.
Moved the location where the menu icon displays down and a bit towards the middle of the screen to get it away from the edges. I also changed how the icon gets displayed; no more blending/overlapping.
You can set a delay time until shutdown and, if you’re running AppleShare, you may set a logoff message.
The “About” dialog has a new logo.
Menus better reflect status of share while shutting down and starting up. The menu structure and handling has changed. The Start/Stop/Cancel commands are all now one menu command which changes to reflect the curent state and what you can do at that point. Menu disabling is also cleaner and better follows the GUI guidelines.
ShowShare is now compatible with non-ColorQuickDraw-compatible Macs like the PowerBook 100 and SE. (I don't have any such Mac on which to test ShowShare, so let me know if this isn't 100% AOK.)
A third option is available for location of the Indicator Icon: a moveable window. The Preferences menu option has now become a hierarchical menu with multiple configuration windows. The “Indicator…” window lets you choose the location of the Indicator and, if you choose to have an indicator in a window of its own, you may choose which indicators to show. The “Time…” dialog lets you configure the Time Slice value as well as When Run and When Quit options.
